Danny Welbeck Scores Champions League Hat-Trick for Arsenal
Ryan BaileyOct 1, 2014
Arsenal took the lead in their Champions League Group D match with Galatasaray via Danny Welbeck.
In the 22nd minute, Alexis Sanchez played a beautiful through ball past Felipe Melo, which the England striker stabbed with his right foot under goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.
Eight minutes later, Welbeck doubled his tally and scored his sixth career Champions League goal. Taking advantage of some questionable defending from the Turkish side, the 23-year-old outpaced Felipe Melo and slotted home with a similar right-footed finish.
In the 52nd minute, Welbeck completed the first hat-trick of his career with yet another one-touch finish, this time from an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain pass.
Clearly, Dat Guy has won the Arsenal faithful over.
