
Ludogorets Take Lead over Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo Misses Penalty
Real Madrid's trip to Bulgaria to face Champions League new boys Ludogorets Razgrad didn't get off to the best of starts.
In the sixth minute, Ludogorets won a corner. Brazilian midfielder Marcelinho was virtually unmarked at the far post, allowing him to nod the ball in from close range past Iker Casillas.
Four minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo had the opportunity to even the score from the penalty spot, but goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov managed to save it:

It was Ronaldo's first Champions League penalty miss in nine attempts. Suffice to say, it's not the start that most were expecting.

UPDATE: In the 25th minute, Ronaldo was given a chance to redeem himself with another penalty attempt. This time, he converted to make it 1-1.
