Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 4
Although the same cannot be said for his tight end Rob Gronkowski, the days of Tom Brady being a relevant fantasy option for owners are clearly over.
The latest debacle in what has been a miserable fantasy season for the New England Patriots signal-caller was a two-interception showing against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
For Brady, it was merely the latest in an alarming trend for those who spent a valuable pick on the man who used to be such a sure thing:

Brady is beginning to regress, so it matters little that two of his next three matchups—a date against Cincinnati is a must-avoid no matter what—appear favorable. So did the first three games of the season.
The good news is that owners who spent a significant pick on the injury risk that is Gronkowski continue to be rewarded as he is not dragged down along with Brady. Monday night was just another example of this feat by one of the league's best players:
| R. Gronkowski | 2 | 31 | 15.5 | 1 | 3 | 9 |
To any normal tight end, all of three targets is a major concern. Monday, Brandon LaFell, Shane Vereen and Julian Edelman all saw more chances at production.
But there was Gronkowski, scoring his third touchdown in four games on four or fewer receptions. The position as a whole is so horrific that even the two catches saw him as the seventh-highest scorer among tight ends by week's end.
It should go without saying that Gronkowski is a matchup-proof option regardless of what Brady does. Let's add a bit more juice, anyway—the team's next three opponents (Cincinnati, Buffalo, New York Jets) rank among the 16 teams that surrender the most points to tight ends on average.
The only thing that can stop Gronkowski is his health. Conversely, Brady is very much a droppable commodity at this juncture, barring another owner for some reason agreeing to a trade.
Like a turnaround for Brady, do not even expect that much.
