Bray Wyatt Teases Feud with Sting on Twitter?

Sharon GlencrossSep 29, 2014

Could Bray Wyatt be heading for a feud with wrestling icon Sting soon? Interestingly, the star seemed to be teasing the possibility to fans in a tweet posted on his official account Monday afternoon.

In a message virtually guaranteed to get everyone talking, Wyatt cryptically wrote:

Scorpions, of course, conjure up images of the WCW legend, something Wyatt and WWE are undoubtedly aware of.

A potential Wyatt-Sting feud is an intriguing possibility.

Wyatt has undeniably lost some steam over the last few months. While his long-running program with John Cena in the spring and summer should have helped the former NXT star become a main eventer, it arguably damaged him. Wyatt was rarely presented as Cena's equal and lost twice to him on pay-per-view.

It's not all the booking team's fault, though. Wyatt's promo work, while once impressive, has grown stale and repetitive in recent times. It really does feel like he's cutting the same muddled and cryptic promo over and over again. Why can't he develop his one-dimensional character more?

How bad have things gotten for him? Wyatt wasn't even booked at last week's Night of Champions pay-per-view. Yikes.

Certainly, if anything could turn things around for the struggling midcard wrestler, it's a high-profile feud with a big name like Sting.

Sting, too, could arguably benefit from working with a younger star. If he ever does perform in a WWE ring, putting him against broken-down performers like Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair would be a disaster waiting to happen. Cena vs. Sting is an intriguing option, sure—and would undoubtedly make for a better wrestling match—but a massive star like Cena hardly needs the rub.

While Wyatt may seem like an unlikely opponent for Sting, he actually does make a lot of sense.
