Michael Vick finally completes a sentence

Big day for the Michael Vick Experience, Monday. The quarterback is a free man after being released from ankle bracelet confinement. As much as I’ve picked on Vick throughout the years on this site (even before his dog fighting charges), I’m of the belief that he’s paid his debt to society and deserves another chance to compete as an NFL player. That doesn’t mean he’s good enough right now to be on a team, just that his dog-fighting past shouldn’t be held against him anymore.

As expected, the media covered the situation with ample saturation. The media also provided some unintentional comedy as only it can.

The sentence Vick finished reads as follows …

The WorldWide Leader in Sports really has a nose for news. Nothing screams home-page news more than Joe Torre giving Manny Ramirez the day off. I will give ESPN a slim benefit of the doubt in this instance, however, seeing as Edward Rooney tried to catch Manny being not-sick. Principal Rooney would have been a perfect liaison between the 49ers and Crabtree, by the way. He really knows how to rub. Inappropriate, I know — and highly disgusting.

One Two of these things are not like the others. At least Mr. T is entertaining in some capacity. When Mike and Mike is the best the world’s dominant sports empire can produce, we’ve got serious problems.

Guess that headline shouldn’t be too much a surprise in the comedy department given the state’s penchant for the drug.

Epilogue :: Some are saying that if Michael Vick ends up anywhere in the NFL, it will be with the Oakland Raiders.
