Manchester City Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of September 29

Rob PollardSep 30, 2014

January seems so far away, but Manchester City like to plan their transfer activity way in advance of the window, and they are likely putting both incoming and outgoing deals in place already.

There are a number of players at City who appear to be surplus to requirements, and they will be looking to move on in the next window. Meanwhile, a deal for a player coming into the squad to bolster their trophy chances is not out of the question.

Here we monitor all the transfer talk coming out of the Etihad Stadium.

Joe Hart No Nearer to Signing New Deal

According to Mark Ogden in The Telegraph, while Joe Hart is expected to be offered a new deal by City in the coming weeks, he is no nearer to signing an extended contract at present.

Speaking at a press conference at the Etihad Stadium ahead of City's match with Roma this week, Hart was asked about a new deal, but he passed the question on to his manager. Pellegrini was guarded and would not confirm if contract talks were at an advanced stage.

“Me and Joe know what happens with that issue,” Pellegrini said. “It is important to know how to manage it, but it is not the most important thing now.”

City, who are struggling somewhat to fulfill home-grown criteria rules in the Champions League and Premier League, are likely to want Hart to stay. However, with Willy Caballero's arrival meaning the England man has spent some time on the sidelines recently, he may well be weighing up his options.
