Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN provides an update on Zach Miller's recovery:

Original Text:

The Seattle Seahawks will be without Zach Miller for an extended period of time after the tight end underwent ankle surgery during the bye week.

Ross Jones of Fox Sports shares the news:

Jones noted the Seahawks already used the injured reserve/designated to return spot for cornerback Jeremy Lane. This means the team will either have to keep Miller on the active roster or put him on season-ending injured reserve.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com confirmed the report and shared a timetable for his recovery:

Pete Carroll also discussed Miller's ankle, via Brady Henderson of ESPN 710:

While once considered an elite tight end with the Oakland Raiders, Miller has not put up big receiving numbers since coming to Seattle. He had five touchdowns in 2013, but the veteran has just 76 receiving yards on six catches in three games this season.

Second-year tight end Luke Willson will likely get more playing time while Miller is out.
