Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 4

Andrew GouldSep 28, 2014

Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree evenly divided up their touches during solid games against the Philadelphia Eagles that should have amounted to more.

Each starting wide receiver caught five passes during the San Francisco 49ers' 26-21 victory. Yet neither could reach the end zone against a defense that entered Sunday ranked No. 30 against the pass.

Crabtree left the game, as reported by Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson; the team announced his return shortly after.

His owners hoped for more, but Crabtree has amassed 28 targets in the last three weeks with a pair of touchdowns in the previous two games. If he's your No. 2 or No. 3 receiver, you're in decent shape. Just don't bank on a breakout, as he has two 100-yard games in the past 12 contests, including last postseason.

After complaining that the referees "cost us another game," per Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee, Boldin displayed his incredible ability to make plays in traffic, but he still hasn't exceeded 100 yards in a game or scored a touchdown this season. He's a better real-life player than fantasy option, especially since his fake owners don't receive points for his blocking.

Treat him as a No. 3 wideout or flex play whose starting status depends on the matchup. Against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have given up the ninth-most points to receivers through three weeks, per ESPN's scoring, he's worth a look.
