Eddie Royal, Keenan Allen's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 4
Keenan Allen and Eddie Royal, two of Philip Rivers' favorite offensive weapons, both had outstanding days in Week 4 for the San Diego Chargers. Then again, so has nearly every other receiving corps against the porous Jacksonville Jaguars.
Royal continued a two-week spurt of great performances while Allen finally got in on the action after a disappointing start to the 2014 season. Here's a look at the statistics for the two receivers:
| Keenan Allen | 10 | 11 | 135 | 0 |
| Eddie Royal | 5 | 7 | 105 | 2 |

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Royal, a 5'10" slot receiver, secured his second straight two-touchdown performance in the first half alone. However, reaching the 100-yard plateau marked the first time he's done so this year. Antonio Gates is typically the huge red-zone target, but the undersized Royal gets those looks in some situations.
Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego points out how rare the outing was for Royal:
Allen, on the other hand, has been a fantasy anomaly this season. But his five receptions for 64 yards in the first half alone was higher than any entire game through the first three weeks. Thanks to two early receptions in the third quarter, Allen also reached 100 yards for the first time.
Michael Fabiano of NFL.com passed along his thoughts on Allen:
Both wideouts are proving that they are good options—Allen as a WR2 while Royal still looks like a flex play. But fantasy owners have to remember that the Jaguars are simply not a good passing defense.
Luckily, the matchups lying ahead look promising for each player. Facing the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs in consecutive weeks, both Chargers targets should put up good points moving forward.
