The English Premier League Boys
Jozy Altidore scored for Sunderland in midweek League Cup action but was an unused substitute for the Black Cats in their 0-0 draw with Swansea this weekend. Here is a GIF of Altidore's goal via socceroverthere.com.
Howard and Everton salvaged a 1-1 draw with crosstown rival Liverpool as Phil Jagielka equalized in the 90th minute with a terrific strike. After being widely lambasted for his performance last week, Howard finished as Everton's highest-rated player against Liverpool.
It was another rough weekend for Guzan and Aston Villa. After losing to Arsenal 3-0 last weekend, they lost by the same scoreline Saturday—this time to Chelsea. Guzan finished as Villa's highest-rated player.
Stoke takes on Newcastle on Monday. Geoff Cameron has not played for Stoke since undergoing groin surgery earlier this month.
Ze Germans
Timmy Chandler started at right-back in Eintracht Frankfurt's 2-1 win over Hamburger SV. Julian Green did not dress for Hamburg after picking up a rib injury earlier this week.

Gyau made his Bundesliga debut midweek for Borussia Dortmund but did not get off the bench in their match this weekend.
Fabian Johnson was not part of the squad for Borussia Monchengladbach as they took on Paderborn. Via Twitter, the club reported that Johnson had a problem with his Achilles tendon.
John Anthony Brooks was not in the squad for Hertha Berlin as they lost to Augsburg 1-0.
In Bundesliga 2, Alfredo Morales went the distance for Ingolstadt in their 1-0 win over Karlshure.
Bobby Wood was an unused substitute for 1860 Munich this weekend.
Terrence Boyd (RB Leipzig) remains out injured.
In the English Championship

Emerson Hyndman started in Fulham's 2-1 win over Birmingham City but was yanked at halftime and finished as the Cottagers' lowest-rated starter. For the Blues, Jonathan Spector started and went 90 minutes at right-back. Brek Shea played the second half for Birmingham. Will Packwood did not dress.
Eric Lichaj was an unused substitute for Nottingham Forest this weekend. The same was true for Bolton's Tim Ream.
Danny Williams (Reading) remains out injured.
Elsewhere in Europe
Rubio Rubin went the distance for Utrecht in their 3-1 loss to FC Twente and finished as Utrecht's lowest-rated player.
Mix Diskerud started for Rosenborg in their match against Aalesund.
Alejandro Bedoya went 78 minutes for Nantes in their 1-1 draw with Lyon.
Conor O’Brien started and went the distance in Wiener Neustadt's 1-0 loss to Ried.
Sacha Kljestan played the last four minutes of Anderlecht's 2-0 win over Zulte-Waregem.
Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar) and Josh Gatt (Molde) are out injured.
South of the Border
Greg Garza and Joe Corona both started in Tijuana's 1-0 loss to Veracruz. Garza went the distance and Corona played 75 minutes. Paul Arriola came on for the Xolos in the 53rd minute.
Edgar Castillo scored a goal in Atlas' 2-1 loss to Monterrey. Alonso Hernandez came into the match as a 58th-minute substitute for Monterrey.
Tigres beat Pachuca 3-2 with Jose Torres and Herculez Gomez both starting. Torres went the distance while Gomez was pulled at the half.
Michael Orozco and Puebla play later tonight.
Ventura Alvarado was not in the squad for America this weekend.
