Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 4

Kenny DeJohnSep 28, 2014

Simply put, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb should only be on the benches of fantasy owners during the Green Bay Packers' bye week in Week 9.

Aaron Rodgers had been scuffling a bit heading into Week 4, but an emergence is on the horizon. Rodgers is one of the best passers in the NFL, meaning his two top receivers are must-starts at all times.

The two occasionally compete for looks in the offense, but both are candidates for big yards and good touchdown numbers. Nelson is the primary option for Rodgers at this point, putting him a bit higher in terms of wideout rankings.

In the Packers' matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 4, both wideouts posted strong numbers:

Nelson and Cobb both have histories of success, but they've never had a day like this as ESPN's Adam Caplan points out:

Nelson, 29, has been Rodgers' favorite target since Greg Jennings departed a few seasons ago. He posted 30 touchdown grabs from 2011 to 2013. A lot of those are because of his breakaway speed, but he has good hands and can catch in traffic. This makes him an asset to the Packers and your fantasy team.

Cobb, 24, had a big year in 2012 before injuries cut his 2013 campaign short. He now appears healthy, meaning he's primed for a career year.

As Rodgers begins to warm up, so will Nelson and Cobb. Don't run the risk of sitting them. That might be the week they explode.
