Red Sox Honor Derek Jeter with Pregame Ceremony at Fenway Park

The New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry was extremely intense for much of Derek Jeter's career, but the Red Sox put the hostility aside this weekend to pay respect to the Yankees captain.

The Red Sox honored Jeter with a pregame ceremony before the final game of the Yankees shortstop's career on Sunday, which was fittingly at Fenway Park. The scoreboard on the Green Monster featured a special message to salute Boston's longtime rival.

Before the game, there was a great ceremony to honor Jeter. Plenty of Boston sports legends were on hand, and the Red Sox presented the Captain with a great gift.

When the Yankees shortstop stepped to the plate in the first inning, the Fenway Park crowd chanted "Derek Jeter."
