Ohio State Strength Coach Slams Fan Who Charged Field to the Ground

Anthony Schlegel doesn't play for Ohio State anymore, but the Buckeyes strength coach isn't afraid to make a tackle if someone decides to run onto the field.

During the Cincinnati-Ohio State game on Saturday night, the former Buckeye—and NFL—linebacker stepped up to restore order after a fan charged the field.

According to Teddy Greenstein from the Chicago Tribune, the student will be able to keep his scholarship. Wunder is an Evans Scholar at Ohio State and was able to keep his scholarship after pleading guilty to criminal trespassing.

Update from Wednesday, Oct. 1

The 21-year-old fan who ran onto the field, Anthony Wunder, is currently dealing with the consequences of his actions.

According to The Associated Press, Wunder has pleaded not guilty to criminal-trespassing charges.

The AP also reported the fourth-year Ohio State engineering student is being removed from the Evans Scholars program, which covers tuition and housing for former golf caddies. However, The Columbus Dispatch's Allison Manning reported that Wunder's lawyer will try to find a way for the student to keep his scholarship.

Schlegel threw the fan down to the Ohio Stadium turf, proving he can still make a play when called upon.
