MVP : Are His Balling Days Behind Him Now?
Hello everyone. As always, I would like to thank you for spending a few moments with me today.
I would like to discuss something that has been on my mind of late. I would like to talk about the sputter it seems that has taken place with MVP.
It wasn’t that long ago before the draft, MVP was on his way to the top. You just felt that he was on the verge of major stardom. He had just come off a successful face turn and was at the top of his game.

The hype that was building around MVP was crazy. People were talking about him like he was a big-time player. It also seemed everyone felt that he was ready to be in the title picture.
He would be drafted to Raw a short time later and the buzz would only get bigger. He was the U.S champ coming to Raw to make a name for himself. His first appearance as an official Raw wrestler he stood up Randy Orton.
He would later wrestle Orton in an outstanding match that would end in a no contest. You were left with the feeling that big things were going to happen to MVP.
Here is my question, what the hell happened?
It seems that since then he has been pushed back into mid-card hell. He has had a few good matches. That shouldn’t be surprising though considering how good he is.
What has happened to all of MVP's hype?
I thought that maybe his move to Raw would be good for him. It would seem, though, it has done nothing more than push him further down the food chain. MVP isn’t even close to the title picture.
To make matters even worse, he has been removed from the U.S title picture. The same belt that he helped restore prestige to. It seems to me that MVP has dropped way off the mat.
The WWE had gold in their hand with a Swagger and MVP feud. You would think that they would try to capitalize off it. Instead, they decided to bury this money maker a week later on Raw.
I am no MVP mark by a long shot. I still know enough to realize that he was a hot ticket coming to Raw. So why in the hell would Vince douse that flame with cold water?
He not only has the ability in the ring, he is also great on the stick. He has the look, the style, and he is over with the fans. So what is it that is holding him back?
I’m not to surprised this is happening, though. He isn’t the first nor will he be the last to be buried for unknown reasons. It just makes the mind wonder, though, who makes these decisions.
I hope that the WWE has decided not to move on with MVP's growth. It would be a damn shame to waste good talent like that. He is better than a mid-carder and should be treated as such.
I’m not saying put the belt on him but he can get a shot at the title, at least. The closest he has come was in that goofy tournament Raw had. How is this guy ever going to get a chance to shine when they won’t let him?
If they had any decency they would put him back on Smackdown! where he was appreciated. If they are going to keep him as a mid-carder on Raw, then that would just be a waste of time and talent.
More importantly, I just hope they decide to start using him right, no matter what brand he is on. He is at a breaking point in his career and he isn’t getting any younger. Either do something with the guy or let him go.
He could be a real asset to the WWE if they ever gave him the opportunity to run with the ball. It would appear though that isn’t going to happen. I really hope that I am wrong on this, but my gut instinct says different.
In the wrestling world you only get a few moments to shine. I just hope that those chances haven’t all passed MVP yet.
Thank you again for listing to my rant.
As always, have a great day and God bless.
