WWE NXT: Full Preview, Rumors and More for September 25

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 25, 2014

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for the September 25 episode of NXT on the WWE Network. Spoilers are already out there, but if you want to know what will happen without having the matches spoiled for you, you're in the right place.

Things are beginning to get back to normal after NXT Takeover 2 took place two weeks ago. All the biggest names in NXT were featured on the live special, but it's now time to start focusing on the entire roster again.

This week will feature the standard five-match setup that NXT has become accustomed to. With minimal commercial breaks thanks to being broadcast on the WWE Network, one hour should be sufficient for everyone to show off their skills.

The Men

The first bout of the show will be a rematch from TO2 featuring Bull Dempsey battling Mojo Rawley. This is Rawley's chance for redemption after being beaten by Dempsey in less than a minute during their last encounter.

The always hyper Rawley is someone who has a decent following among NXT fans, but he still hasn't quite found his groove yet.

If he is able to pick up a win over Dempsey, he will be back on the right track, especially after such an embarrassing loss two weeks ago.

Dempsey, on the other hand, needs to prove that his victory wasn't a fluke. Defeating Rawley a second time would definitely help the brawler establish an image as a dominant player in the developmental system.

Another storyline being carried over from two weeks ago involves The Realest Guys in the Room and The Legionnaires. Enzo Amore took on Sylvester LeFort in a Hair vs. Hair match at TO2, but LeFort left his partner to take the punishment after losing to Amore.

Marcus Louis had what can only be described as a bucket of Nair hair-removal cream dumped on his head after Amore and Big Cass failed to shave LeFort's head following his loss.

Louis will be looking to get some retribution for having his hair forcibly removed by the guidos when he takes on Amore in a singles bout this week.

Big Cass will probably accompany his partner to the ring, but it will be interesting to see how the dynamic is between LeFort and Louis after LeFort left his friend high and dry.

While it won't make his hair grow back any faster, getting a win over Amore would definitely help Louis cope with the loss of his locks.

The only other singles match featuring the men of NXT set to take place is Tyler Breeze vs. Justin Gabriel. This should be one of the highlights of the night for sure.

We all know how good Gabriel is at hitting the big spots that make the crowd pop, and Breeze gave one of the standout performances of his career against Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville and Tyson Kidd.

As long as they are given enough time, they should be able to steal the show. As for who benefits from winning, both men need this victory.

Breeze was unsuccessful in capturing the NXT title yet again, so a win here could help get him get some of his confidence back. However, it's hard to imagine that a guy who calls himself Prince Pretty has a confidence issue.

Gabriel just needs a victory to make sure people know he is capable of winning at least occasionally. He just hasn't had the best year in terms of his win-loss record, so beating Breeze would be a huge accomplishment.

Were Gabriel to win, it might put him in the running to be the next challenger for Adrian Neville's title, but only time will tell.

The Women

After losing to Charlotte at TO2, Bayley is back in action this week in a match against Alexa Bliss. Bayley has been in the spotlight quite a bit in recent weeks, but Bliss was somewhat lost in the shuffle leading up to TO2.

Bayley gave an outstanding performance two weeks ago in her title match, proving to a lot of people that she indeed belongs at the top of the division in NXT.

Bliss is not known for being one of the most gifted performers, but she makes up for a lack of experience with a lot of athleticism and passion.

If you have ever watched a match with Bliss or Bayley, then you know how exciting both women can be. Bayley needs this victory to get herself back in the running for another women's title shot, but Bliss needs the victory even more.

She has yet to find much success in NXT, and a win over Bayley would definitely push her up the ladder quite a bit. Regardless of who wins, this should be a fun match between NXT's two most energetic Divas.

The Tag Teams

The main event of the show is going to feature another TO2 rematch, but this time there will be a title on the line. The Ascension cashed in their rematch clause for a shot at The Lucha Dragons newly won Tag Team Championships.

These two teams had one of the best matches of their careers at TO2. The Ascension looked as dominant as always, but it was Kalisto and Sin Cara who really got the crowd on their feet.

Ending the year-long streak of dominance Konnor and Viktor had over the tag team division certainly made Kalisto and Sin Cara look like a team that should be taken seriously.

The Ascension recently wrestled on an episode of Main Event. They were the only NXT talent who did not face anyone else from the NXT roster leading up to the live special, and they made Los Matadores look like crash-test dummies in the process.

Winning back the titles would definitely be good, but at this point, Konnor and Viktor don't need them because they seem like a lock to be called up to the main roster soon.

This is why Sin Cara and Kalisto need the win more. Proving they are good enough to hold the titles requires them to defeat the former champs one more time.

No matter who wins in the end, this will be a very enjoyable match, especially if their previous encounter is anything to go off of. You have power and brutality on one side of the ring and speed and agility on the other. How could this not be exciting?

This week's episode of NXT looks like it will be one of the best we have seen outside of the live special that aired two weeks ago. Which match are you looking forward to the most?
