WWE Forecast: Thoughts and Predictions of the WWE's Future

Matthew HesterJul 20, 2009

Hello, everyone. As always I would like to thank you all for spending a few moments with me today.

I would like to first say that I hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend for me was a special one. I decided to take the kids camping this past weekend.

I was fishing with my son and a couple of touching things happened. Not only did my son out fish me three to one, he gutted and cleaned his first fish.

Enough of that stuff though, what I would like to discuss is what is in store for our WWE fans. I will not lie to you kind people, I am very good at calling story lines and angles.

In the last four months, I have called all the PPV's with over an 80 percent correction rate. So what I decided to do with all of you today is share what I will think will happen in the upcoming months.

I see some big things happening in the WWE in the future months. We will see a lot of young talent pushed and some major moves with the titles made. While I may end up being wrong on some, I think in general what I will say will happen.

So with out any further delay I give you Matt's future WWE predictions. Feel fee to comment or argue my points. It is after all part of the fun when making predictions.

Raw

When I look at Raw from a distance, I can see a lot of different things happening. I see a major young talent coming ahead and I also see some talent being pushed back.

The way I see things I think we will see Orton holding on to the strap a few more months. It looks like the WWE is doing the smart thing by letting him run with the ball. It is indeed Orton’s time to shine and show dominance.

I look for Orton to remain the champ after the PPV and beyond it. I think he will wind up losing it to Cena down the road. After he drops the belt, I think we will see Legacy finally start to go at it with each other.

Who will Cena end up facing? I will get into that a little later.

As far as the U.S. title is concerned, I believe Kofi's days are numbered. I think his mystery opponent will wind up being Jack Swagger. Jack Swagger will become the champion, and you can take that to the bank.

If it is not at NOC, it will be some time shortly after that. When Swagger does win the belt, he will remain champion for some time. He will be pushed with dominance through most of Raw's mid-card roster.

Sadly I don't see things getting much better for guys like MVP and Kofi. I have a funny feeling these guys will stay mid-carders for a while. The only one I'm not to sure of is Evan Bourne.

I think towards the end of the year we will wind up seeing a Swagger and Cena feud. It will be an intense feud and a good one. In the end though, I see Jack Swagger holding the title over his head before 2010.

Smackdown

Things on Smackdown are a little different. I am not so sure how much longer they will keep the strap around Punk. I think he will retain it at NOC, but after that I am not so sure he will hold it much longer.

It would appear that they are now giving JoMo that push to the next level. It makes sense considering how Edge's face turn was wrecked. One man's injury will be another man's gain I guess.

I get the feeling we will soon see the Heavyweight strap on John Morrison. Considering there is no other face to step in after Hardy goes away for a while, it only seems like that is the logical choice. He will go on to take the strap from Punk.

This is where I think things will start to get a little crazy. It is no shock or surprise that will see an Edge and Jericho feud. If I had to guess, the WWE is going to put a lot of juice into this battle.

Well I can’t think of a better way to sweeten the pot, then to have the title on the line. I think Chris Jericho will take the strap from Morrison. Once that happens, the WWE will have a five-star feud set up.

As far as the IC title is concerned, we will finally have some good talent to feud for the belt. The IC title will be fought over by guys like Mysterio, Morrison, and Ziggler. I have a funny feeling it will be Morrison to hold it after he drops the heavyweight title.

It also seems that the WWE has also put a little money back into the tag titles. As we speak the tag champs are Jericho and a mystery partner. Who will be Jericho's mystery partner?

That is the question everyone seems to be asking. It will be non other then his old partner in crime Lance Storm. It seems no one other then I and BR writer Ben think this.

It makes sense though if you think about it. These two have a long history of tagging together. Storm's personality would fit in perfect with Jericho's gimmick. If this does happen, I promise you that this will be a fun team to watch.

If I am wrong on this guess, which is a very good possibility then look for someone like Christian to step in to fill Edge's shoes. They have tagged before and this would also work well to.

There is only one problem I see with them as partners. They would have to turn Christian which I don't think is happening. Not to mention the fact that these guys were partners before, I don't see how this would shock anyone if he was picked.

ECW

I don't think we will see too much brewing out of ECW. The only major thing that I see happening is Benjamin becoming the champ. That would normally make me happy, but I don't look at the ECW title as anything more than a booby prize.

It will be an opportunity though for Benjamin to grow. If he is ever going to win a major title it will be sooner then later. He can use this as a stepping stone for better things.

I also think we will see Kozlov get a bigger push. I can also see him becoming the champ. It could only help Kozlov to have him as a champion on ECW.

Thank you once again for spending some time with me today.

As always, have a great Day and God bless.

Stay tuned for part 2 of the shortest but greatest tag teams in the WWE.
