The Auburn Tigers football team snagged their second commitment, following their Stars and Stripes weekend, landing a verbal agreement from Lincoln High School running back D.J. Howard.

Howard's commitment on Monday morning came just hours after safety Demetruce McNeal committed to Auburn.

D.J. Howard is a talented three-star prospect, according to the Rivals recruiting service. He is listed at 6'0, 195 lbs, and reportedly clocks in at under 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash.

Howard's commitment will make him one of the key figures in trying to replace senior running back Ben Tate after the 2009 season.

He is the 11th commitment for the 2010 recruiting cycle under head coach Gene Chizik, and the seventh prospect with a three-star ranking on Rivals.
