The depth chart is getting very thin at running back for the Carolina Panthers after injuries to some key players in the team's Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bryan Strickland of Panthers.com provided the latest details on Mike Tolbert and Jonathan Stewart:
Jim Corbett of USA Today elaborated on Tolbert's injured leg:
Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer had more on Tolbert's timeline for recovery:
Person also noted the coaching staff was not encouraged:
Tolbert would represent a tough loss for Carolina as a quality blocker and short-yardage back. He only has 10 yards on 14 attempts this season, but he has 12 touchdowns in the past two years with the Panthers.
With DeAngelo Williams and Fozzy Whittaker also nursing injuries, Darrin Reaves becomes the only healthy running back on the roster.
