Liverpool's disappointing start to the season has left people wondering whether the Reds bought the right players in the summer.

Perhaps most of these questions, if not all, are completely knee-jerk reactions to the Reds losing three of their opening five Premier League games. Nevertheless, they do kick-start the transfer rumour mill back into action.

Liverpool would be ready to make a bid for Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart, should the 27-year-old leave the club, according to Ben Jefferson of the Daily Express on Monday.

However, this looks to be a case of a journalist taking Simon Mignolet's recent form at Anfield and a faint rumour that Hart may be discontent at the Etihad, and putting two and two together.

After all, Hart has played all five of City's Premier League games so far this season and was their star performer in their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich last Wednesday.
