NBA 2K15: Latest Trailer, Soundtrack and Release Date Info

Few—if any—sports video game franchise understands pre-release hype like the NBA 2K team. The build up for the release of NBA 2K15 has been no different.

From the soundtrack details to the reveal of the various game modes, NBA 2K15 is perhaps the most highly anticipated game set to release this calendar year.

Since August, there's been a steady diet of awesome news that has lit a fire under virtual hoops fans. Here's the vital information you need to know about the release of NBA 2K15.

When: Tuesday, Oct. 7

Platforms: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC

MyCareer Trailer

The MyCareer mode has been one of the most played features in the game since its inception. Last year, a storyline angle was introduced, and it added even more intrigue to the mode. 

This year, there's a fresh approach being given to the compelling story, but gamers will also have the ability to scan themselves into the game if they own a PS4, XB1 and a PS4 camera or Xbox Kinect.

You'll now have the option of using two voices instead of one. To further expand the audio enhancements, even more real NBA player voices have been added. 

In NBA 2K14, there was no voice used for the team mentors. In NBA 2K15, every mentor's voice was captured. That should add even more realism to the MyCareer journey.

The Soundtrack

The moment it was announced that Pharrell Williams would be the man curating the soundtrack, my first question was: Is "Happy" going to be in the game?

Thankfully, the answer was no. Most would admit, the song was pretty cool the first 1 million times, but the thought of having it playing during menus is kind of scary.

Pharell did an excellent job creating a diverse and upbeat soundtrack. Via Spotify, here's a list of the songs that will be in the game.

There should be enough variety to have you bobbing your head on at least one track.
