San Diego Chargers vs. Buffalo Bills: Live Score and Analysis

Philip Rivers threw for 256 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Chargers 22-10 over the Bills in their first road win of the season on Sunday.

Donald Brown paced the San Diego (2-1) ground game with 62 yards on a career-high 31 carries after Danny Woodhead was carted off the field in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Eddie Royal hauled in both of Rivers' TD passes and Malcom Floyd led the team with 98 receiving yards on two catches. 

Fred Jackson had a game-high eight receptions for 78 yards with a score and added 34 yards rushing for Buffalo (2-1), which was looking for its first 3-0 start since 2011. E.J. Manuel passed for 238 yards and a touchdown while Sammy Watkins, the Bills' talented first-round wideout, was held to just two catches for 19 yards.

The Chargers struck early on their first drive of the game with a 3-yard TD catch from Royal and Novak's 19-yard field goal in the second stanza pushed the lead to 10, but Dan Carpenter nailed a 45-yard field goal to pull the Bills within 10-3 inside of three minutes before intermission. San Diego's last drive of the half ended with a 37-yard field goal from Novak to reclaim the 10-point cushion.

San Diego's longest drive of the game (7:29) came at the start of third quarter on a 14-play, 80-yard drive that was capped off by Royal's second TD catch and Buffalo responded with an 11-yard screen pass to Jackson who plowed into the end zone as Buffalo climbed back 20-10. The Chargers consumed another six minutes in time of possession in the fourth quarter and forced Manuel into an intentional grounding penalty that resulted in a safety to complete the scoring.

 As head coach Mike McCoy noted to reporters post-game, execution paid off heavily.
