Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Rams: Live St. Louis Score & Analysis

Steven GerwelSep 21, 2014

The St. Louis Rams (1-2) suffered a heartbreaking 34-31 loss at home to the Dallas Cowboys (2-1), and this one certainly stings for the St. Louis fan base.

The Rams got off to a red-hot start in the first half. Quarterback Austin Davis had two passing touchdowns, and cornerback Janoris Jenkins ran into the end zone with a pick six. The 21-0 lead was exactly the type of statement the Rams wanted to make in the first half, but it apparently was not enough.

Dallas answered back with 20 unanswered points, and the Cowboys acquired all the momentum. The Rams made it a 24-20 game with a field-goal, but Dallas then added two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a pick six by linebacker Bruce Carter.

Even with Dallas' fourth-quarter touchdowns, Davis and the Rams got the ball back with about two minutes on the clock and a just a three-point deficit. Rather than winning the game or sending it to overtime, Davis tossed up his second pick of the game.

The Cowboys wiped out a 21-point deficit, making it their biggest comeback in regulation in franchise history, according to ESPN.

This will be a difficult game for the Rams to get over. If they can't take advantage of a three-touchdown lead, will they be able to capitalize on any situation at any point this season?

The Rams will enter their bye week in Week 4 and attempt to get refocused. The Cowboys will host the New Orleans Saints at Jerry World and attempt to secure a three-game win streak.
