A short while back the sporting news released an article “The nations top five coaches” by Sporting News staff writer Matt Hayes. Hayes listed 15 coaches in three groups of five. The way Hayes wrote it up Chris Petersen was in the second group.

However, the second group would be, if listed properly, in the third position as Hayes listed the top five, the second group Petersen’s was on the outside, but the five pressuring the top five was in Hayes third position?

Yes, simple math!

Maybe not your best work Hayes?

Regardless, of the ability of writers to show due respect to college coaches like U of Texas Mack Brown (who leads Petersen’s group), Les Miles, (LSU), Jim Tressel (Ohio State), Chris Petersen (Boise State), and Frank Beamer of Virginia Tech; it is an honor at any level (even at number 14) and at any time to be listed in such a high regard.

Thank you Sporting News! Go Chris Petersen and Go Broncos
