WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of Sept. 15

Ryan DilbertSep 19, 2014

New blood and championships inspired much of the best WWE-related social media in the week leading up to Night of Champions.

Kevin Steen and a handful of WWE's recent additions from the indies starred in a memorable tweet. The company featured Rusev in slickly produced video. And a mirror image of intercontinental champ Dolph Ziggler was at the center of a great Instagram post.

Title victories and dreamed-up title belts made the list as well.

A homage to a former world champion came by way of the NFL. Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan joined his teammates in clobbering Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne in a Week 2 game. After one of his four sacks on the day, he borrowed his celebration style from Shawn Michaels.

WWE tweeted a shot of him in mid-pose:

Henne has to be glad that Kerrigan didn't also emulate The Heartbreak Kid's superkick.

The sports world once again overlapped with the sports-entertainment world when Big Show posed with Brandon Bass of the Boston Celtics.

It's not often that a man who is 6'8'' is made to look so small as Bass does in this photo from his Instagram account:

Big Show will be spending the Night of Champions pay-per-view rooting for his tag team partner Mark Henry against Rusev. Should The Bulgarian Brute roll over Henry, it may be Big Show who is next on Rusev's hit list.

In the latest 30-Second Fury video, WWE compiled many of Rusev's most hard-hitting moments and swirled them around with Lana's shrill commands. The result is a video that should have aired on Raw or SmackDown:

Rusev has made a major impact on the main roster since coming up from NXT. There are five gentleman who promise to do the same before long.

Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn have been tearing it up at Full Sail University for the past year and beyond. Hideo Itami made his in-ring debut on Thursday's NXT. Fergal Devitt and Steen await to follow his lead.

Steen tweeted an image of all five wrestlers:

That's quite the impressive collection of talent. Fans of their work in Japan, Ring of Honor and promotions around the world have to be salivating at the sight of all of them in a WWE ring.

It can't be long before they are on the main roster, boots flying.

As gifted as this crew is, it won't be a surprise should any of them win championships at the WWE level. That would mean that WWE's latest top-10 video won't need to be changed.

Jeff Hardy, Sheamus and Andre the Giant can all remain where they are on this ranked list of most shocking title wins:

Flashing back to all those moments makes one both swoon and wince. Hardy upsetting Triple H was a moving, electric moment. David Arquette becoming world champ is something most fans would prefer to forget.

At least the title he wore that night looked most excellent.

"The Big Gold Belt" remains one of the most handsomely designed championship belts in pro wrestling history. That can't be said for the design Kofi Kingston concocted.

In the following edition of WWE Inbox, he talked about a hypothetical title he would create. It's seems that high-flying is his forte whereas championship creation is not.

Kingston will have to watch Night of Champions from the bench as Ziggler, his onetime rival, tries to steal the show.

Leading up to his match with The Miz, The Showoff has been teaming with R-Truth. Calling himself "R-Ziggler," he has served as Ziggler's stunt double despite their obvious differences.

The two played up their supposed lookalike status in a fun Instagram video:

Some of the most fun WWE fans had over the week was making jokes at Cameron's offense. In her match against Naomi on Monday's Raw, she pinned her foe while she was on her stomach. For those new to the wacky world of wrestling, that is not how you execute a pinfall.

Corey Graves had one of the best jabs at her, knocking both her performance and her ring gear:

Folks had just begun to forget about her calling Melina vs. Alicia Fox her favorite match, too. Now she has given fans new ammo for more ridicule and future memes.
