Why Michigan Will Be Better Than You Think ?
Last Year
How Pissed would Coach Bo have been if he was alive to see last season's "Michigan" team, first losing season since 1967. They didn't even miss it by 1, or 2, but by three games.
The could have beaten Utah, should've beaten Toledo, Purdue, and Northwestern. They had to beat MSU, they might have upset Penn State(but who are we kidding), they should have loss to OSU by less. Easily that's at least a seven win season, which equals a bowl and a lot more.
Team
This is simple Tate Forcier + Brandon Minor + Rich Rod/Spread Offense = Points. It all comes down to Fitness and Blocking.(More on team in an upcoming article)
During the 2009 season, expect more, a lot more. Don't be surprised if they finished 2nd in the Big Ten this year. They have a manageable schedule:
Schedule
- vs. Western Michigan - W(37-10). They will come up short and convert field goals in the first half. In the second half they'll start clicking.
- vs. Notre Dame - W(27-24) I think Notre Dame is sort of overrated an Michigan with a chance to redeem themselves, after a horrid game last year. It was worse than the score indicated.
- vs. Eastern Michigan - W(45-6) It's vs EMU, and after a (2-0) start they're clicking, especially a win against ND, they're looking to destroy.
- vs. Indiana - W(45-10) Well... a (3-0) Homecoming what more do you want.
- at MSU - W(35-31) Remember last year's game, yea.. they are going out for it.
- at Iowa - L(27-42) Oh by the way Iowa's back!!! They will not be able to stop Iowa's offense.
- vs. Delaware State - W(48-14) After their first loss of the season their defense is still sloppy. But a strong offensive performance will get them through.
- vs. Penn State - W(24-23) They are home, and the crowd will be after them. Lifting this young team's spirit.
- at Illinois - L(17-24) They will be beaten because of a sloppy offense and mistakes. Illinois will be an easy looking team but Michigan will come out losers.
- vs. Purdue - W(28-13) Just another game.(I got nothing) Cut me some slack its my second article.
- at. Wisconsin - L(14-17) See Illinois.
- vs. Ohio State - W(42-39) Michigan will come out firing, OSU will try to come back, but the deficit will be too much. No I'm not crazy this is all possible. OSU will lose it's 2nd game of the year.
Possible Outcomes
- This is all possible IF...... This Offense starts clicking as soon as it sets foot on the field.(9-3) Capital One Bowl.
- If not Michigan goes (8-4), four changes loses vs Notre Dame, Iowa and OSU, but win against Illinois and Wisconsin. Capital One Bowl or Outback Bowl.
- The third possibility Michigan lose its first game AGAIN!!!!! the go 6-6. Loss vs. Western Michigan, and MSU. The rest same as 2nd possibility. Alamo Bowl
Future
Rich Rod got what he needs. With this team he can lure more recruits. This team has potential, and after a 3-9 season they get a #7 recruiting class. Imagine what we will get with a 6-6 season, or a 8-4 season. Michigan will be back.
But I predicted (7-5) season last year, what do I know.
