Paige vs. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella: Winner and Post-Match Reaction

In one of the most convoluted matches on WWE’s 2014 Night of Champions pay-per-view card, AJ Lee regained the Divas Championship by beating defending champion Paige and Nikki Bella in a Triple Threat match.

After dominating the ranks of NXT, Paige made her debut in WWE and won the Divas Championship from AJ the night after WrestleMania 30. Paige dropped the title back to AJ after the Money in the Bank PPV, but she won it again at SummerSlam.

Using mind games throughout the buildup to this match, Lee regained her title and looks to be the top women’s wrestler on the roster again.

The ongoing battle between the two elite female wrestlers has been highly entertaining for a once-forgettable women’s division, but the inclusion of Nikki and Brie Bella in the storyline was the wrong move.

The Bella Twins have been involved in a sister vs. sister feud since Nikki helped Stephanie McMahon win her match against Brie at SummerSlam. Nikki was rewarded with this title shot, but the angle between the sisters is far from over.

After Sunday’s PPV, the hope is that AJ and Paige have one more singles matchup at Hell in a Cell for the title. During that match would be the perfect time for a new wrestler to debut or for a star like Naomi to insert herself back into the conversation.

On the other hand, Nikki not winning the title at Night of Champions will set the stage for The Bella Twins to have a singles match at the next PPV. With The Authority having a tie to Nikki vs. Brie, this match could feature a stipulation.

As long as The Bella Twins stay away from the Divas Championship, the WWE Universe will be happy with this storyline.
