Week 4 Top 25
#1 LSU
Last Week
LSU 44, Middle Tennessee 0
Ryan Perrilloux led the Tigers to another victory this week with a shutout of Middle Tennessee’s Blue Raiders. Perrilloux went 20 of 25 for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns in another home victory for LSU. In my book, the Tigers remain ahead of the Trojans, but the gap certainly has closed. If only I could have a tie.

#2 USC
Last Week
USC 49, Nebraska 31
USC proved they can dance with a tough opponent this week with an impressive victory on hostile ground. John David Booty went 19/30 for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns.

#3 Florida
Last Week
Florida 59, Tennessee
Superman—I mean Tim Tebow—led his team to an impressive victory against the Tennessee Volunteers. Tebow threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two more. I admire Tebow’s running ability and the fact that he puts his body on the line for his team. If Tebow can continue his power running without getting injured, I will have no doubt that he is, in fact, Superman.

#4 Oklahoma
Last Week
Oklahoma 54, Utah State 3
This Big XII powerhouse smashed through Utah State. Oklahoma remains the only team to score 50 points every game this season. Sam Bradford went 19 of 26 for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns. They should have no trouble scoring 50 points against Tulsa next week.

#5 West Virginia
Last Week
West Virginia 31, Maryland 14
The Mountaineers didn’t play like a Big East powerhouse, but as long as they’re winning, they don’t care how they play. Patrick White went 8 of 13 for 95 yards and Steve Slaton carried for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns as West Virginia

If their defense could get their act together, the Lions would be a top 5 team. Expect the Lions to best Michigan by 24 this week.

#9 Wisconsin
Last Week
Wisconsin 45, Citadel 31
P.J. Hill ran for a school record-tying 5 touchdowns. Hill, last year’s Big 10 Freshman of the year, emerged as a leader with his punishing runs against the Citadel Bulldogs. Expect another victory as the Badgers square off against Iowa this week.

#10 South Carolina
Last Week
South Carolina 38, SC State 3
With QBs Blake Mitchell and Tommy Beecher giving up four interceptions and two fumbles, the Gamecocks showed a weakness that LSU is sure to exploit in their upcoming match. Nevertheless, Spurrier has coached his team to an impressive start and they deserve this #10 ranking, likely their peak this year. Can they beat LSU? No. But expect a good season from the cocks. In addition, I predict SC to maintain a top 25 ranking after their loss to the Tigers.
