Eagles Insider had the final verdict for Jones' Week 2 status:

Alex Marvez of Fox Sports 1 offered his take on Jones:

Jones is a stout 3-4 defensive end who's familiar with the game plans deployed by Colts coach Chuck Pagano. The two spent two seasons together with the Baltimore Ravens, and Indianapolis brought Jones into the fold this year.

When Pagano was battling leukemia in 2012, Jones shaved his head in his former coach's honor and spoke highly of him, per The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson:

"

[...] He's a great man and a great leader. He's going to be back coaching and kicking butt.  "Absolutely, this guy has so much passion and loves the sport every single day and came ready to work and had us fired up. I'm pretty sure that's something he brought to Indy, and I'm sure those guys are going to love him, too.

"

Other than an unexceptional first half against the Denver Broncos in the season opener, it appears Jones is already making a considerable impact for his new team. Halting that momentum with an injury would be a big blow for the Colts as a whole.

So not only is Jones a big part of Indianapolis' defense with an innate understanding of the system—he is also a player with the experience of winning a Super Bowl. Already emerging as a leader on the field, Jones will likely miss some time with a high ankle sprain.

For a front seven that lacks a lot of depth and speed, Indianapolis needs the likes of linebackers Bjoern Werner and Erik Walden to provide a pass rush. The team is without Robert Mathis, and Jones is another tough loss to the Colts defense.
