Travis Kelce, Dwayne Bowe's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 2

Joseph ZuckerSep 14, 2014

Neither Travis Kelce nor Dwayne Bowe gave fantasy football owners many points on Sunday, but the Kansas City Chiefs receivers look like good selections going forward.

Bowe didn't start what was an eventual 24-17 loss to the Denver Broncos well, but he ended up with three receptions for 40 yards. Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving with four catches for 81 yards on six targets.

You only have to look at Bowe's last two seasons to know that his fantasy value is declining. He's unlikely to post gaudy numbers on a consistent basis, but he'll have his moments. You shouldn't consider him any higher than a WR2 at the moment. The flex is more where he should fit in right now.

This is the second week in a row in which Kelce posted respectable numbers. He had 49 yards receiving in Week 1. Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star felt that head coach Andy Reid was true to his word when he said Kelce would get more looks:

Kelce might not be worth starting right now, but he could find his footing more and more as the season goes on. He is a good stash option to have around for later.

He's only owned in 8.8 percent of fantasy leagues on NFL.com, so he's likely available if you are looking to add him.
