WWE NXT Takeover II: Full Preview and More for September 11

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 11, 2014

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for NXT Takeover 2 on September 11. WWE began referring to this special as Takeover: Fatal 4-Way, but we will just keep calling it Takeover 2 for now.

This is the third NXT live special, but it has the potential to be the biggest. For the first time in months, fans have no idea what to expect because the show is not pre-taped like every other episode.

We have a packed card ahead of us. Not only will every title in NXT be on the line, but we will also see two Superstars battle in a Hair vs. Hair match.

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

On top of all the great matches scheduled to take place, this will be the first time the WWE Universe will hear from recent signee Kenta.

As of right now, there is no plan in place for Kenta to wrestle, according to F4WOnline (h/t WrestlingInc), but that doesn't mean we won't see him mix it up in some way. A big debut like this is the perfect opportunity to start a feud, but that is something we will have to wait to see.

As far as the matches go, let's take a look through the card as it currently stands.

Mojo Rawley vs. Bull Dempsey

The only match listed without a title on the line or some kind of stipulation is the singles bout between Bull Dempsey and Mojo Rawley.

These two began a program after Dempsey attacked Rawley following their loss in the NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament that has been taking place over the past several weeks.

These are two big men with a lot of power and plenty of potential. Neither one of them fits the perfect mold of a WWE Superstar, but that has never been an issue for those who have the talent to succeed.

This is a hard one to call. Either one of these men would really benefit from a win on a live special like this. Dempsey is not quite as established as Rawley in the NXT Universe, but he has his share of followers.

Dempsey would probably benefit a little more from the win simply because he doesn't have the name recognition that Rawley has established. All you have to do is look at WWEShop.com to see the proof. Rawley already has a shirt, but Dempsey does not.

However, Rawley was made to look like a bit of a fool at the hands of Rusev at the last NXT special. A win at this event would definitely help him get back some of the mojo he may have lost (pun intended).

Sylvester LeFort vs. Enzo Amore (Hair vs. Hair)

Sylvester LeFort and Enzo Amore may not be wrestling for a title this Thursday, but they definitely have something on the line. These two will be wrestling for their hair.

Both Amore and LeFort are established names in NXT, but when it comes to experience, there is definitely a difference.

LeFort has been wrestling since 2007 in various promotions all across America and Europe. Like some other current NXT talents, he is a graduate of Lance Storm's training school, so you know he has the fundamentals to be great.

Amore, on the other hand, has only been wrestling since he was signed by WWE in 2012. He has definitely shown improvement, but he is still a long ways away from being main roster material.

While both men have been regular fixtures in NXT for quite some time, they still are not as well-known as names like Sami Zayn or Adrian Neville, and you can bet they will be looking to change that with their performance at Takeover 2.

Like the previous match, both men would benefit greatly from a win at this event, but this one is even harder to predict because both men are pretty equal when it comes to booking.

Regardless of who wins, it's always fun to watch a wrestler get his head shaved. Remember when it happened to Vince McMahon?

Bayley vs. Charlotte (NXT Women's Title)

The women of NXT will be in action when the bubbly Bayley challenges Charlotte for the NXT Women's Championship. They are following the classic put on by Charlotte and Natalya at the last special, and that means there will be a lot of pressure on them to perform well.

Luckily, these are two of the best NXT has to offer. Bayley has the edge over Charlotte when it comes to experience, but Charlotte has been around the business her whole life.

There is no denying that a win here would make Ric Flair's daughter into an even bigger force to be reckoned with, but Bayley would benefit from the win a lot more.

Charlotte has her pedigree to help her. She has definitely put in the work to become better, but having one of the greatest of all time as a father certainly didn't hurt her when she was signed with no wrestling experience in 2012.

Bayley has to earn everything she gets on her own. She's not the daughter of a legend, and she's not some model who was hired because of her looks. She is a wrestler in every sense of the word.

Defeating Charlotte for the title would be the biggest moment in Bayley's career, but it could actually benefit Charlotte just as much. Losing the title could be a sign that she will be called up to the main roster soon, but being champion didn't stop WWE from bringing Paige up, so you never really know.

The Ascension vs. Kalisto and Sin Cara (NXT Tag Team Titles)

The Ascension made their first appearance on the main roster this week on Main Event in a match against Los Matadores, which they won decisively.

They will have an even bigger challenge to overcome this Thursday when they take on Sin Cara and Kalisto, a duo who have the potential to steal any show they're on.

The brutality and power of Konnor and Viktor against the agility and quickness of Kalisto and Sin Cara will make for some great action.

The Ascension have dominated the tag team scene in NXT for nearly a year, but their time as champions could be coming to an end.

Sin Cara and Kalisto won a tournament to earn this title match, and they have shown some great chemistry in those matches. Winning the titles from Konnor and Viktor would only help cement their future as two of the top names in NXT.

Like Charlotte, losing the titles could actually be a good sign for The Ascension. They have all the skills necessary to make it on the main roster, and odds are good that they will be called up very soon.

Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Tyler Breeze (NXT Title)

The main event is going to be a doozy. These four men are the cream of the crop in NXT, and they will almost certainly steal the show.

Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze represent some of the bright spots in WWE's future, while Tyson Kidd has been working his way back up the ranks ever since returning from a lengthy absence.

All four competitors appeared on Raw this past week in a tag match that seemed to indicate that not only were the WWE fans aware of who they were, but they were big supporters of all four men.

Neville has held the NXT title since he won it from Bo Dallas at NXT Arrival. His seven-month reign has certainly seen him take on some talented challengers, but this is the first time he will be up against three other men at the same time.

Not to sound repetitive, but Neville losing the title at this point might be the best thing for him. There is no denying that he has everything it takes to be successful, but he needs to be brought up and given the chance to prove himself.

Any one of the challengers would make a great champion, but the heavy favorite has to be Sami Zayn. The former El Generico is one of the most popular stars in NXT and also one of the most talented.

WWE has done a great job promoting this event with their social media accounts and the one-off matches we saw this week. All we can do now is sit back and watch the magic happen.

Which match are you looking forward to the most at NXT Takeover 2?
