How Munir El Haddadi Can Learn from Messi and Neymar at Barcelona

Tre' AtkinsonSep 11, 2014

After a whirlwind year for Munir El Haddadi, the young striker is looking to cement his place at Barcelona. The 19-year-old is showing that he is ready to play a role in the first team and has what it takes to officially make the jump.

Despite already being a household name and boasting incredible talent, Munir is very young and has quite a lot left to learn. Luckily for Munir, he will be training every day with the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar, and he is in the perfect place to develop as a professional.

For now, Munir needs to take every chance he has to learn from Messi and Neymar. Let’s take a look at some ways the 19-year-old can grow over the next few weeks.

Messi is already considered one of the greatest to ever play the game. He has an intense work ethic and is always looking to improve himself. Training alongside the Argentine will be great for Munir’s progression, but seeing his compatriot's approach to training could be even more valuable.

Watching the way Messi prepares for training and for games can greatly help Munir learn about the importance of things outside of matches. He will get the chance to see how one of the best in the game tackles everyday life, and he would be wise to follow suit.

Additionally, Neymar has already become one of the most dangerous attackers in the game and is a national hero.

Talent can only take you so far, and Munir has a good head on his shoulders. Learning from Neymar, who is still young at 22, will help the La Masia graduate understand how to handle the spotlight as a teenage star.

So far, Munir has not faced much difficulty in his young career. He has arguably been the very best player in every match he has played leading up to his first-team debut, but now he is facing much stiffer competition.

Difficult times will come for the young striker, and he must be ready to respond the right way. Watching the way Messi, Neymar and even Luis Suarez handle failure could drastically affect the way Munir handles difficulty.

Munir has so much to learn from his teammates about things off the pitch and the life of a professional footballer. However, most fans will continue to look to what the striker can learn on the pitch above everything else.

There is no doubting the talent Munir possesses. He is a great scorer and passer, and he never shies away from a challenge. The 19-year-old plays every second with everything he’s got, and it pays off big time.

When it comes to things on the pitch, Munir has a lot to learn about switching gears. He can learn from Messi and Neymar when to turn the engine on and when to take things lighter. Sometimes, that simple understanding can make all the difference.

Playing alongside Messi will also teach Munir just how important it is to be willing to step up and make others look good. Throughout his career, Messi has been able to assist teammates in incredible ways, and Munir would be wise to learn when to pass and when to take the ball himself.

When it comes down to it, Munir has a wonderful opportunity to learn from his teammates at Barcelona. He will see how they train, prepare, face problems, respond to different situations and handle success. But above everything else, Munir will have the chance to see what it really means to be a leader and wear the Barcelona shirt on a daily basis.

As long as Munir comes to training every day with humility and the willingness to learn, he will constantly be improving as a player and as a person. He has some of the best teachers around and is in the best position any young striker could dream of.

What will Munir learn from his Barcelona teammates? What improvements should he make? Leave your thoughts and comments below!
