4 Team Mega Trade? Goodbye Lamar
So the whole re-signing Odom thing isn't exactly going smoothly.
How about a sign-and-trade? Have all possible solutions already been discussed?
Mavs, Blazers and Heat look like the only options, right?
How about we rock the boat a bit? Forget that, how about we sink the Titanic?
A four team mega trade would wake us all up again after the lull in free agent activities! I'd love to see the analysis articles, blogs, comments, news, Chris Broussard clips, Hollinger reports, taxi drivers debating over this deal.
LAKERS send Odom to Portland (who can absorb the bulk of that contract). Portland sends Rudy Fernandez to UTAH (Utah also gets the cap relief of dumping Boozer's gorilla contract). UTAH sends Boozer to CHICAGO (Finally! A player who can score from the post!). CHICAGO sends Hinrich to the LAKERS.
Does everyone win here? Kind of?
Lakers get a PG with decent size, shot and defense (And I bet he eats less candy than Lamar).
Chicago gets a low post gorilla (who will probably screw them when his contract runs out).
Utah gets cap relief and Rudy Fernandez to play next to D-Will.
Portland gets a decent name to put on its squad and make their offseason seem less futile.
Yes, it's just a pipe-dream, probably won't happen, blah blah. Salaries would have to be included to make it work (for the most part though, the salaries are even-ish aside from Utah's dump which is absorbed by Paul Allen's cashola). ESPN trade machine no longer has Lamar Odom on the Lakers roster (ease up ESPN, he's not gone yet!) so I couldn't do the nitty-gritties.
Does anyone else have a better 4 team trade? One that would sink the titanic? Are we just getting greedy here--I mean, a lot of players have already moved teams. Clearly I have a bit of time on my hands and I'm not being very productive at work. Lucky my boss is a Bulls fan ;)
