Mayweather vs. Maidana II Press Conference: Watch Live Stream of Pre-Fight Event

The whole boxing world will have its eyes set on the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night, when pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather meets Marcos Maidana in a hotly anticipated welterweight rematch.

Mayweather’s WBC/WBA Welterweight and WBC Junior Middleweight Championships will be on the line, and he’ll be looking to decisively take down a foe who gave him difficulty last time around. Maidana, who outperformed expectations in May, will be looking to shock the world and become the first man to topple boxing’s kingpin.

Wednesday afternoon, the two men will meet for the final press conference ahead of their rematch, and given the hostile nature of this promotion, you can be certain that both men will have plenty to say.

Mayweather took a majority decision from Maidana in May, unifying the welterweight crown in a fight viewed as his toughest in years. The pound-for-pound king has been vocal about that night, expressing displeasure and disdain of the Argentine’s rough style, which included a fair number of fouls.

He’s accused both Maidana and his trainer Robert Garcia of intentionally fighting dirty, but that style presented him with great difficulty in the early rounds.

Maidana’s chances were almost completely dismissed coming into the fight in May. His crude style and unrefined technique seemed built to be picked apart by a technical master like Mayweather.

But that didn’t happen, at least until the second half of the fight, and Madiana easily exceeded expectations.

Can Mayweather take him out more easily this time? Or will Maidana finish the job and take his elusive zero?
