Anthony Chapman of The Express reports that Chelsea would rival Manchester United for the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo, should the Portuguese international decide to seek a move away from Real Madrid next summer.
"It is believed that United have set aside as much as £60million in a bid to bring Ronaldo back to England, and Louis Van Gaal is ready to offer him a lucrative deal exceeding his current £290,000 weekly wage.
However, reports now claim that Jose Mourinho has thrown his hat into the ring after forming a close-bond with the 29-year-old during their time together in the Spanish capital.
"
Chapman does, however, state that United remain the favourites to sign a player who scored 66 league goals in his final three seasons at Old Trafford prior to his move to Madrid in 2009.
Glen Johnson

Jack Wilson of the Daily Star reports that Real Madrid are interesting in signing Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson.
He writes that Madrid view Johnson as a potential replacement for Alvaro Arbeloa, who could be on his way out of the Bernabeu.
Johnson would be available on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer, but Wilson suggests that Madrid could seek to sign him for a small fee in January. The 30-year-old would, however, be cup-tied from European competition for the remainder of the season, so a summer move seems more likely.
Juventus have also been linked with a move for the English international.

Rhys Turrell of the Daily Star reports that Real Madrid are considering a move for Chelsea attacking midfielder Eden Hazard. The Belgian international is seen a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, in the event that Ronaldo elects to pursue a move away from the Bernabeu next summer.
"The future of Portugal star Ronaldo has been up in the air recently, with reports circulating that the ex-Manchester United man may quit the Champions League winners at the end of the season after falling out with club executives.
That has led to Real drafting up a shortlist of potential replacements, with the unsubstantiated claims today suggesting that Chelsea star Hazard is Madrid's No.1 target.Starsport understands any move is currently unlikely, but Real's interest could develop if Ronaldo decides to force through a departure next summer.
"
Turrell notes that Chelsea would likely seek a fee in the region of £60 million for the 23-year-old.

Per talkSPORT, reports in Italy suggest that Real Madrid are one of a number of clubs interested in Bayer Leverkusen's German international midfielder Christoph Kramer.
Kramer is currently in the second year of a two-year loan to Borussia Monchengladbach, but it is suggested that Leverkusen would be open to bids in January.
Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester United are the other clubs who have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who played a full 90 minutes for Germany in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland on Sunday.
