Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reported on the plan to replace Tate in the Browns' rushing attack:
Original Text
Finally getting to chance to assume a full workload in the backfield, Ben Tate exited his Cleveland Browns debut with a knee injury.
After gaining 41 yards on six carries, Tate left Week 1's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the first half. Per the team's official Twitter account, the former Houston Texans running back was questionable to return:
Should the 26-year-old miss any more time, an opportunity arises for Terrance West or Isaiah Crowell to emerge as Cleveland's workhorse. The top choice is West, who ran for 100 yards on 16 carries in Tate's absence.
The Oregonian's Jason Quick touted the rookie back from Towson, whom Cleveland selected in the third round:
Yet others, including RotoExperts' Jake Ciely, are ready for Crowell, an undrafted rookie from Alabama State, to assume the starting spot. He awarded that confidence with two touchdowns during his NFL debut.
Both are big backs suited to succeed through the tackles, and the Browns typically employ such bulldozing rushers.
Considering his higher draft status, West is likely the better pickup if Tate is shelved, but both are worth monitoring in all fantasy leagues after impressive Week 1 performances.
