WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of Sept. 1

Ryan DilbertSep 5, 2014

The biggest positive of the latest installment of The Bella Twins storyline was the amusing social media it inspired from WWE fans.

Many of the week's best tweets focused on the corny "Growing Up Bella" segments on Raw. As for the other highlights on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, Jerry Springer's upcoming appearance on Raw, a two-year-old fan and memorable title wins inspired posts.

That last item was the subject of WWE's latest countdown video. A compilation of clips took fans back to Eddie Guerrero, Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels scoring memorable championship victories:

There's plenty to debate on what big title changes are missing. Not sure how Ivan Koloff ending Bruno Sammartino's 2,803-day WWE title reign didn't make the cut.

Beckett Sage, a young super fan, has garnered a bit of fame of late for his ability to name Superstars' theme songs. WWE took notice of his video showing off that ability. The company invited him and his dad to try to name more entrance songs. Some creative pronunciations aside, he nailed it:

It's curious that Beckett identified The Bella Twins' theme as just Nikki's. Maybe he's into rooting for the heels.

Brie and Nikki Bella's rivalry has overshadowed the one involving AJ Lee and Divas champ Paige. That's partly because the feud over the Divas Championship has been so odd. A shot of AJ backstage on Friday's SmackDown spoke to that:

AJ offered her "frenemy" a box of chocolates after Paige's match only to get one of the sweets spit back at her. This Instagram photo of her captures just how hard it is to get a handle on what's going on in these two foes' minds. What feeling is she emoting there?

There is far more clarity in the Brie-vs.-Nikki story, but a lot more bad acting and ridiculous scripts as well.

On Monday's Raw, Nikki reflected on all the bad things Brie has done to her, including stealing her prom date, in a series of prerecorded promos. Revealing what she had never told anyone before led to a number of folks poking fun at the bit.

Wrestling Memes jokingly proposed another transgression Brie may have made:

The Kayfabe News Twitter account imagined that Brie pulled a Breaking Bad:

The people behind The Fan's Podcast think that Brie's bad behavior goes much further back than when The Bellas were in high school:

Former tag team champ Matt Hardy wasn't in a joking mood after Raw. The Bellas segments and a generally unappetizing edition of the show compelled him to send out a powerful critique on Twitter. Hardy's rant is right on:

It's certainly harder to produce high-quality entertainment when WWE puts on so much new programming each week. Still, we should hold the company and its storytelling to higher standards. The audience has more superb choices than ever before.

WWE has to find more ways to make sure that fans choose its product rather than seek out TV shows and other mediums that are consistently great.

Chances are, Hardy is not going to like where the Bella narrative is heading next. Springer is set to mediate a discussion between the two sisters on the next Raw.

Commentator and announcer Renee Young is certainly excited about the talk show host appearing for WWE for the second time:

Ring announcer Justin Roberts' response to Springer's impending arrival is of the stunning variety. He posted a shot of him from what looks like a time he was on The Jerry Springer Show:

He included the caption, "Glad Jerry Springer is coming to #RAW Monday to moderate a discussion between @thebriebella & @thenikkibella...he sure helped me!" He offered no explanation as to why he was on the show.

One can only imagine what odd circumstances had him sit on that famous stage. Or else, one can go digging around on the Internet for answers.
