Chargers' Defense: Turn My Swag On

This article was written in response to Robert Domaine's "Giants Defense: No One Has Swagger Like Us"

"Turn My Swag On" from the latest album by Soulja Boy, will be the Charger's new theme song. Sorry Robert, but San Diego is taking the top spot this year. After a bad showing last year, San Diego is ready to turn their swag on.

The Chargers have their Pro-Bowl Linebacker in Shawne Merriman back. That alone says it all. His presense will make this team instantly better.

What's the opposing QB going to do when he has Merriman, Phillips, and English coming after him? You can't throw to your wide-out; they're locked down by the cro and Jammer. Go ahead, throw over the middle, soon-to-be-starter Kevin Ellison will rip your head off.

For you San Diego fans, be excited for this year. We have a draft-steal in Kevin Ellison; he will be an intimidating force for years to come. We have Merriman back, which will force the quarterback to throw interceptions. Just imagine how crazy it will be with English, Merriman, and Phillips blitzing at the same time. Our offense is there; we just need our defense to step up.

This could be our year.

What do you think about English bulking up to try out for the vacated DE spot? With Merriman back and our awesome depth at linebacker, we don't really need him. That is IF Merriman plays "lights out."
