Leeds United Got Fans' Deadline Day Hopes Up on Twitter, Then Sold Two Strikers

Leeds United's Twitter account got it badly wrong on deadline day, getting fans' hopes up before dashing them in cruel fashion.

Time was ticking down on Monday evening when the Championship club got fans' hopes up:

To drum up that excitement (and capture the general sense of excitement that a deal or two was in the offing), it then retweeted the club captain Jason Pearce:

Then, a slightly bad piece of news on one of their strikers:
