Tracy McGrady to Wear No. 3 Jersey Next Season
In a surprising announcement, Tracy McGrady has changed his number from No. 1 to No. 3 in support of his "Three Points Darfur" initiative. As reported by Houston Chronicle sportswriter, Jonathan Feign, an official announcement is expected this week.
Trevor Ariza, the newest Houston Rocket, will wear McGrady's former No. 1 jersey, although he couldn't don the uniform in his press conference last week due to details being worked out.
This isn't McGrady's first time wearing the No. 3 jersey, as he wore the number back in his high school days at Mount Zion Christian Academy High School in North Carolina. McGrady has stated that he will wear the number to promote his Darfur Dream Team campaign and "Three Points" documentary.

According to Feign, The Darfur Dream Team enlists athletes to help raise funds for Darfur refugees to be educated in a sister school program, in conjunction with schools in the United States. The documentary "Three Points" follows McGrady on his trip to Sudan and Chad in the summer of 2007.
