Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 Fight Time, PPV Schedule, Odds and Predictions
Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.'s rematch with "El Chino" Marcos Rene Maidana is undoubtedly the most hyped boxing card in the second half of 2014. Whether it will live up to the hype remains to be seen.
The first fight was more competitive than most expected. Mayweather seemed either caught off guard by Maidana's relentless approach, or he was content to let him whale away and tire himself out.
In either case, it was a risky approach.

After the Argentine established some early success with aggression and pressure, Mayweather seemed to take control in the later rounds.
Some believe Money will have a much easier time with Maidana the second time around. Could Saturday's rematch be a continuation of the later rounds, or will Maidana find a way to bully Mayweather into another competitive scrap?

Maidana Has Already Shown Us His Best
In the first fight, Maidana threw more than twice as many punches as Mayweather but was still out-landed.
It's safe to say that a decision victory is all but out of the question for El Chino. He must hit, hurt and drop the pound-for-pound champion to win.
Considering Mayweather has never been down in his career, and has only been hurt less than a handful of times, this is a tall task, to say the least.
When you factor in that Mayweather has already gotten a look at Maidana and seemed to make several adjustments in the second half of the first fight, Money should have the momentum.
Maidana gave Mayweather his best shot in the first meeting. At 31 years old, he isn't going to improve or come in with some newfangled plan to befuddle Mayweather.
Essentially, on Maidana's best night, he lost to Mayweather on one of his worst.
There Is Hope
So how could Maidana possibly win? Mayweather is 37 years old. Even he will lose the fight against Father Time if he fights long enough. If he has lost a bit of slickness, speed or reflexes, it could open the door for Maidana to land a life-changing punch.
It's unlikely one shot will finish Mayweather. He's demonstrated in the past that he knows how to handle himself in the rare occasions when he is hurt.
If Maidana can hurt Mayweather, he'll have to take advantage of his opportunity. Because Money is the master of mid-fight adjustments, Maidana's window will likely close quickly.
Prediction
The rematch will look like a continuation of the later rounds of the first fight. Mayweather will dominate the scoring and potentially have a chance to stop Maidana late.
The official prediction is a unanimous-decision win for Money, but a 10th-round TKO wouldn't be a shock.
