Chelsea vs. Burnley Betting Odds, EPL Prediction, Match Preview
Careful what you wish for—it could mean facing juggernaut Chelsea as you make your league debut.
Burnley was promoted to the Premier League this season, but their reward is the toughest opening match imaginable against a new-look Chelsea squad that has the best odds to win the EPL.
And they are whopping home underdogs as EPL action kicks off for the year.

The Blues made many big moves in the off-season and oddsmakers monitored by Odds Shark have them as the team to beat this season. Chelsea finished third in the EPL last season and anything less than the title will be a disappointment this year.
Burnley made more off-season additions than any other Premier League squad, but they are still vastly overmatched in this encounter with Chelsea, especially in the midfield. They finished second in the Championship League last season.
Sportsbooks had Premier League odds for this match with Chelsea posted at -275, Burnley posted at +750 and a draw line of +375.
Chelsea brought in Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas as their big off-season signings and they spent a lot of cash for these players. Didier Drogba was brought back, so, with Costa, the Chelsea attack should be a solid one.
However, Drogba suffered an ankle injury in a pre-season match and is questionable for this one.
Danny Ings and Sam Vokes combined for 41 goals last season for Burnley and they will be counted on to carry the Clarets’ attack this season. If the Blues’ defense can shut this duo down, they should be in good shape.
Fabregas will give the Blues a more balanced midfield this season and Burnley have to keep the Blues from dominating the time of possession in this opening match.
The Blues can get off to a good start to the EPL season facing the promoted squads of Burnley and Leicester City in their first two matches before facing Everton.
