Futbol Chronicles: Luis Fabiano Would Be A Truly Wise Signing For AC Milan

Bleacher ReportJul 11, 2009

Luis Fabiano would make an excellent signing for AC Milan. His signing, which is expected to be wrapped up on Tuesday next week, will usher in a new era at Milan.

The new Milanese coach, Leonardo, who is of Brazilian nationality himself, has emphasized his willingness for his club to play a more attractive brand of football, something of which a player of Fabiano's stature would flourish in.

Milan still have good pieces to compliment Fabiano, but it is the potential paring of Pato and Fabiano up front that surely has Milanese supporters wagging their tongues. And with good measure too.

Another possible signing that Milan would be wise to consider making is Arjen Robben, Rafael van der Vaart, and Wesley Sneijder of Real Madrid—three quality Dutch midfield players who could possibly fill in Kaka's shoes at the middle of the park for Milan.

Brazilian-led attack supported buy a Dutch legion would probably fit into Leonardo's vision of the brand of football he wants to promote at Milan.

The reason for making the case for Dutch players is that Milan are known to have forged a reputation for signing and playing top quality Dutch talent such Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, and current squad member Clarence Seedorf.

AC Milan are known to have played to most entertaining brand of football during that golden era of Basten and Gullit, so one would have to hope that Milan of this version can somehow replicate that football experience.

Fabiano would make the first step towards achieving that goal. The rest would surely follow.
