TNA Impact Wrestling: Complete Preview, Rumors, News and More for August 14

Donald WoodAug 13, 2014

Last week’s episode of Impact Wrestling featuring TNA president Dixie Carter going through a table will go down as one of the most memorable moments in the history of the company.

It will be tough to follow the culmination of a four-month-long feud, but with another action-packed edition of the flagship show scheduled for this Thursday, wrestling fans should expect more history to be made.

With the entire company dealing with the fallout from the table spot, Bully Ray setting his sights on new goals (including a historic tag team match), a huge six-man tag team battle featuring TNA world champion Bobby Lashley and a four-way Knockouts Championship bout, the groundwork has been set for another entertaining episode of Impact Wrestling.

Here is all the vital viewing information and a full preview of Thursday’s show.

Where: Manhattan Center, New York City

When: Thursday, August 14, at 9 p.m. ET (pre-taped)

Watch: Spike TV

Fallout from Dixie and What’s Next for Bully Ray

When Bully Ray put Carter through the table last week, the entire wrestling world took a sigh of relief knowing that the company’s president and top heel authority figure would be removed from television for the foreseeable future while she recovered from her broken back.

The hope for many fans is that last week’s show was the end of the war between Bully Ray and the Carter Family, but there should be at least one more face-to-face confrontation between Bully and Ethan Carter III. The latter can’t let his sweet Aunt D go through a table without getting some revenge.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What’s Next for Team 3D?

Ever since the company announced that Team 3D would be the next inductees into the TNA Hall of Fame, Devon has been hanging out with Bully Ray. According to ImpactWrestling.com, the legendary duo will reform on Thursday to rekindle a rivalry with The Hardys.

As the Dudley Boyz and Hardy Boyz in the WWE, these two teams were involved in some of the most unforgettable matches in history. Fans forget the back-to-back three-way tag team Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches at WrestleMania 2000 and WrestleMania 17 between these two teams and the pair of Edge and Christian.

While all four combatants have gotten older and a bit slower, the raw athleticism is still there, and the passion has never died.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Free PPV-Quality Matches

With The Wolves currently holding the TNA World Tag Team Championships, the hope among many fans is that the battle between Team 3D and The Hardys is the equivalent of a No. 1 contender’s match.

Instead of giving away the finish on Thursday (let the two teams brawl outside the ring and be counted out), TNA must let the fans enjoy a good 10 minutes of the match before The Wolves come out and involve themselves in the angle.

Whether it’s next week or further down the line, the possibility of a three-way Tag Team Championship match between the defending Wolves, The Hardys and Team 3D would continue the revitalization of the tag team division.

Six-Man Tag Team Match, Knockouts Four-Way Match and Much More

As if all the drama with Bully Ray and the aftermath of Carter’s table spot wasn’t enough for wrestling fans, TNA has announced a six-man tag match between world champion Lashley, MVP and Kenny King squaring off against Bobby Roode, Austin Aries and Eric Young.

Aries, Roode and Young are three of the most decorated wrestlers in the history of the company, and together, they will form an admirable team. While the heel stable will likely get the win in order to protect the world champion, many fans are hoping that this match spawns an announcement of a No. 1 contender or at least a match to determine the new No. 1 contender.

Lashley needs a new challenger, and all signs point to Roode.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Which Knockout Walks out with the Title?

This week’s episode is already exciting, but the addition of a four-way Knockouts Championship match makes the show even more intriguing. Gail Kim will defend her title against Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Taryn Terrell in what should be a very entertaining bout.

While most fans want to see the third and final chapter between Kim and Terrell with the title on the line, the team of the Beautiful People (Love and Sky) has made life hell for both women. On Thursday, all alliances will be out the window and chaos will reign supreme.

Kim should retain the title.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Long-Term Storylines

The evolution of Sam Shaw has been unique, to say the least. From a stalker character who wouldn’t leave ring announcer Christy Hemme alone to a likeable face who stood up for Gunner and Mr. Anderson, Shaw has been one of the most interesting people on the show for months.

After Mr. Anderson still couldn’t trust Shaw despite the fact that he saved Anderson from a beating at the hands of The BroMans, Gunner is now scheduled to take on Anderson as a result of his former friend’s inability to trust Shaw.

For this storyline to land and become memorable, Shaw needs to eventually turn on Gunner and revert back to the Creepy Bastard gimmick that caught the eyes of wrestling fans initially.

TNA Rumors: Officials Reportedly Interested in Alberto Del Rio, per Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Wrestling Inc).
