UFC 100 Predictions (Undercard)
**All posted betting lines are as of 2 PM saturday, july 11th.**
Pre-lims
CB Dolloway 8-1 (-325) vs Tom Lawlor 5-1 (+250) - The only "who cares" match-up of the night... Dolloway by TKO in rd 2.
Dong Hyun Kim 11-0-1 (-250) vs T.J. Grant 14-2 (+190) - Expect fireworks from the opening bell in what should be an early "fight of the night" contender. Chonin proved he has the gas tank to withstand 15 minutes in the octagon at UFC 97, while Kim seemed to fade down the stretch at UFC 94. If Chonin can throw some sort of competent takedown defense at Kim, and keep the fight standing (Dong Hyun Kim is a monster for anyone when he's on top, even submission proficient fighters like Chonin) he should only get stronger as the fight wears on...... T.J. Grant by vicious KO in rd 2
Jon Jones 8-0 (-500) vs Jake O'Brien 11-2 (+300) - Pretty simple, O'Brien is a dominant wrestler, but very one dimensional. Jones is multi-faceted, and shows significant progress every time he steps in the cage. The problem for O'Brien is that even if this was strictly a wrestling match, it would still be a coin-flip. It's not, and I can only see O'Brien's night ending in some horrific fashion....Jones dominates all aspects, wins by submission rd 1.
Mac Danzig 18-6-1 (+160 ) vs Jim Miller 13-2 (-200) - Consider this a "loser leaves town match" as both are in desperate need of a win to continute their careers inside the octagon. Miller is the carbon copy of an opponent that gives Danzig fits. Superb wrestler, with solid jiu-jitsu and a great gas tank, every piece of common sense says Miller should win this fight. Somehow I just see it playing out differently.... Danzig by TKO (strikes) in rd 2.
Mark Coleman 15-9 (+300) vs Stephan Bonnar 11-5 (-500) - A worthless match. Coleman hasn't showed any semblence of the skills he once possessed, while he has shown his increasing age and lack of cardio. The weight cut is just too much for Coleman at this point. If he has any prayer of reviving his career, it will not be in the light heavyweight division. Provided that Bonnar can withstand the initial two minutes surge while Coleman's lungs still function properly, this is the easiest pick of the night....Bonnar by TKO late in rd 1.
