Lorik Cana Or Blaise Matuidi: Who Would You Prefer Arsenal Signed?

Callum D'SouzaJul 11, 2009

With Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo deciding to sign with Italian giants Juventus, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger now turns his attention to other talented holding midfielders.

After going their fourth consecutive season without a trophy Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are determined to end that drought by purchasing quality players who can repair where the damage is—the midfield.

Lorik Cana and Blaise Matuidi are both worthy candidates but with Arsenal having little money to spend, it is likely only one could sign with the Gunners.

Who would you prefer?

Lorik Cana

The Marseille midfielder is strong, solid and aggressive, he is capable of handling all of the midfield defensive duties as well as providing a spark through the middle. The Albanian would fit into Arsenal's quick passing, elegant style of play and would sit nicely next to captain Cesc Fabregas in the midfield.

But the 25-year-old has been known to let his temper boil over and react to silly things. Many feel his aggression would let him down in the EPL and he would fail to make an impact due to him losing his anger to often.

Blaise Matuidi

Young, smart, strong, French. Perfect for Arsene Wenger. Blaise Matuidi is a reliable central defensive midfielder who has a big future ahead of him. The St. Étienne man has expressed great interest in playing at the Emirates and has reportedly been on the Arsenal radar for a number of years now.

Though he is not as experienced and technically gifted as Cana, the Frenchmen has a big future and Wenger could no doubt mould him into the next Patrick Vieira.

So out of Lorik Cana, the aggressive Albanian, and Blaise Matuidi, the young Frenchmen, who would you prefer Arsenal to sign?
