It's Not LeBron's Fault, It's YOUR Fault!
This is my first time writing so please understand if I'm not too insightful.
His recent transgression are not shaking hands with Orlando Magic, confiscating the video tape, and continuing to flirt with the Knicks. I'm not his fan so I can't defend him for what he did. But he is becoming a victim of his circumstances and surroundings.
I'll be making a mini Kobe versus LeBron debate as well.
'08-'09 playoffs, what really happened?
Having the best regular season record must have made it difficult to accept defeat. But if he was a true student of the game, he should have known that regular season momentum does not carry on to the playoffs.
LeBron only had one finals trip which he was swept and barely got to taste the juice of it. His overall experience to grind through the playoffs was weak no matter how great his talents were and his physical toughness was.
Lets face it—his team sucked, his coach was overrated idiot, and he was not experienced or hungry enough as he thought he was.
Love and Hate
Kobe continued on from last season with a Chinese water torture criticism he faced for years. Kobe kept humility, focus, and the killer instinct to disprove all his haters.
LeBron entered the playoffs with everyone's expectation for him to be throned as the true king of NBA. LeBron had all the adoration of the league and Nike just ready to throw him the keys to the candy store.
If people were throwing stones at Kobe running towards the finish line, they were also trying to just give the trophy to LeBron without even racing.
One was hated. One was coddled. That can create entitlement issues.
Who's the best player?
Up until 2007-2008, Kobe was still "reluctantly" called the best player. People waited for years not to call him that.
This past season, LeBron stacked very good numbers and kept doing his highlight dunks and blocks. But that's all he got.
If stats are the only reason he is being considered the best, that's not enough. The so called stats that made him impressive but imperfect. He compiles them in a horrible team with a horrible coach who just autopilots the games through LeBron.
I can accept his rebounds and assists but not his PPGs. He gets his points mostly through the dunks and penetration. His post game is still weak, J's are unreliable, and he chokes on FTs. This is just not acceptable.
In a playoff sitatution, everything is necessary to win. Carrying these weaknesses after six years in the league cost him a few crucial points in the playoffs.
His so-called better leadership was no longer flawless. Trick shots and photo sessions made the already weak team that much weaker.
Jerry West even said this past season that he never smiled or relaxed during the playoffs. Being the nice guy does not work. Michael Jordan was a horrific teammate before Phil Jackson and in Washington. He hogged the ball and bashed on his teammates.
Good leaders are not nice.
KG controls the psyche of the Celtics with fear and insanity which is why the Celtics got the best attitude of the league in my opinion.
If stats and athleticism are the only reason he is being called the best, it has got to stop. Being called the best player when there's so much to improve and accomplish can make a person weak and borderline satisfied.
Kobe is still the best and from what I saw this past season from LeBron, Kobe'll stay as the best for few more years. Kobe is never loved universally like Michael. But that's a rather good thing because he is never satisfied and continues to improve.
After winning four rings, he still just barely entering the Michael and Magic conversation. LeBron's "shot 2.0" was already getting him into places he is not even close to. It's like giving a little kid ice cream for getting a B-.
The fallout
He entered the league with pass-first mentality which means he's far from selfish and a believer in a team sport.
But with all the false praises, his ego grew too huge and he disregarded the one of the most fundamental elements of sportsmanship and that is to accept defeat. T-Mac shook hands and even cried in front of the press.
LeBron left his teammates to clean things up and did not stand tall as the leader. Instead he dug deeper by refusing to apologize the next day and wore Yankees cap to foreshadow his future departure from Cleveland.
Now he has this camera confiscation fiasco.
Since when did Nike become his personal butler service? I bet he's not gonna admit to that mistake either.
Who's fault is it? YOURS!
I guess LeBron's fun loving nature to be around his hometown with his HS buddies kissing ass can be cute but also detrimental to himself.
The ESPN, TNT, and NBA press writers never getting tired of writing him off as the greatest of all time when he hasn't even won a ring is not helping LeBron at all.
Time Magazine placed LeBron on the cover as No. 1 athlete to anticipate during the Olympics. When Spain made the gold medal game a two point deficit, he choked along with everyone else before a guy ranked at No. 33. on that list bailed them out including a "be quiet" four-point play beyond the arc.
Nice work Time magazine. More doting with no results. Perhaps Nike payed them off. I can't say much trash about Nike because they're a profit driven organization and covering they're asses for their most lucrative asset is expected.
Bleacher Report alone has incredibly stupid fans just blindly rooting for LeBron. People called Kobe a loner and a social outcast but that seemed to have benefited him because he rather spend time alone than to be with ass kissers.
Kobe has very few friends he can trust and that's why he associates with the highest of integrity like Derek Fisher. Kobe suffered a humilating defeat no worse than LeBron against the Celtics.
He shook everyone's hands. He spoke for the future. Most importantly he came back the next year and won.
That is how you earn the best player title.
Kobe will continued to be hated until he retires. But now I see that he needs that hate. It makes him stronger.
I want to see LeBron becoming great too eventually. So maybe he needs to be hated too or at least deserves objective criticism which he doesn't get.
Congratulations to the idiots who dissolved LeBron's good will and humble approach to the game. You have seduced him to the darkside.
What now?
When Jordan played his last game in LA as a Wizard, he scored 23 points.
30 seconds before the end of the third quarter, Kobe knocked down Jordan. Jordan laughed with Kobe as he got off with Kobe's help. Kobe went historic during the game with eight three-pointers and 55 points.
Did Jordan get mad and prematurely leave the game? Did he try to confiscate all cameras in Staples Center?
Hell, he could have tried considering who he is—Jordan welcomed the younger generation taking the torch. He knew that playing as a Wizard meant watching younger players schooling him.
During the 2003 All-Star game interview, he said he came back to see if future talents could continue such respect and love for the game without him. You want to see a signs of a legend, there you have it.
So for you guys out there who said LeBron is already on his way to become better than Jordan, you are a retard.
Shaq is gonna be clogging up the paint next season. Do you really think LeBron will be putting up those numbers with dunks, rebounds, and blocks?
He's gonna be forced to shoot J's. At some point in the future NBA finals, the victory will come down to him making FTs with five seconds left.
When he turns 30, he would have logged more miles with more severity than Kobe or Jordan at that age. Will he have improved on all aspects of the game and even become smart in his approach to pace himself and develop that fadeaway?
He may have to tap into his 30's to win a significant portion of his rings (if he can win them.)
Jordan won four out of his six rings in his 30's and stacked numbers as a 39 year-old. Kobe just got his fourth and looking forward to more in his 30's. Wade is likely to get a shot at his second ring near age 30.
The past six years have been great for LeBron. But he's got tons of stuff left to prove. So everybody, no more best player talk. No more covering his ass. You're turning a good player into a mediocre jackass.
If you love Lebron that much, then please just shut up because you're not helping him.
