David Luiz has arrived in Paris as he prepares to start a new chapter in his career at Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG tweeted a picture of him paying homage to a former Brazil superstar, playmaker Rai.

Thiago Silva, Luiz's defensive partner for club and country, was with him for the journey.

The Brazil defender had a torrid time at the World Cup. After a steady start, he was at the heart of a defence that shipped seven goals to Germany and then lost the third-place play-off to the Netherlands.

Having had an extended summer break, he will now resume training with his new club ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

Luiz joined PSG earlier in the summer after a reported £40m move from Chelsea.
