Manchester United's Flight Back from US Tour Delayed by Airport Threat
Manchester United's trip home from their pre-season tour of the U.S. was briefly diverted by a security threat.
A passenger plane was escorted into Manchester Airport by a fighter jet after a request from the pilot (as per Jessica Best of the Daily Mirror). Meanwhile, United's plane was in the final stretch of the journey back from Miami.
United photographer Craig Norwood, following the flight's route back, noted that they had been diverted by the incident.
