LeBron Told Ariza He's Staying Put, But Is LeBron Thinking Logically Anymore?

Daniel WolfJul 7, 2009

Sources close to Trevor Ariza have said that LeBron James told Ariza that he will be staying put in Cleveland past 2009-10 season.

Cavs fans rejoice, as long as this reported source can be trustworthy, but...

...of course James told Ariza this, probably in a effort to persuade him from beautiful Los Angeles to "wonderful and exciting" Cleveland.

Unfortunately, that move did nothing in convincing Ariza to sign with the Cavs and instead he spited James and signed with the Houston Rockets.

James may need to reconsider his chances of winning an NBA Championship this upcoming season.

His stubbornness in not re-signing may just cost him the championship he so desires. This is because the Cavs cannot pay as much money in free agency in order to have enough money for James after 2009-10 season.

Maybe James is thinking this same thing right now? Or maybe he is not?

Nevertheless, James needs to realize that winning a championship before his contract is up may not be as important as signing a long-term contract. this is because there will be a much better chance to not only win a championship, but be part of a possible NBA dynasty in the making.

What's more important to James?

A quick ring and then going to another team where he might not get another ring for a long time, but hel'll be in a bigger market with more spotlights?

Or, being part of a dynasty and winning many rings and still getting pretty much the same amount of spotlights due to the many championships he'll win?

You better think hard about this, King...
