Week 3 Preview

Kevin BrownSep 14, 2007

IconLast week, I went 8-2 in my first week of picking the games. Hopefully I can continue that into week three with a big slate of games lined up.

If you look at my article from last week, you will see that I accurately predicted Oklahoma to easily beat Miami and for Oregon to defeat Michigan despite everyone believing the Wolverines would rebound with a big victory.

I really expected more out of the Auburn Tigers. Being from Florida, I have known USF was building their football program but I never expected them to bet an SEC team like the Auburn Tigers. Congratulations to them for becoming the second best team in the state and to the Big East for becoming the third best conference this year.

On to this weeks games:

Tennessee at Florida

Tim Tebow is going to outplay Erik Ainge and the Gator's defense will prove to America they aren't as weak as advertised.  Tennessee may put up some points but the overall speed of Florida will be too much for the weak Volunteer secondary to keep up with as Percy Harvin and crew run wild all day.

My Pick: Florida

USC at Nebraska

The Huskers will keep this game closer than last year's 28-10 defeat but ultimately, the Trojans will prevail with a victory. Look for this game to be close going into the 4th quarter before a big play breaks the crowds spirit and the Nebraska wheels fall off.

My Pick: USC

Ohio State at Washington

Ty Willingham got a raw deal at Notre Dame and this is the season he proves that to the nation. Washington will pull off the big upset over the Buckeyes as the Big 10 continues it's downward fall to the worst conference in the country. Besides the ACC, of course.

My Pick: Washington

Louisville at Kentucky

In a game where both offenses could score on every possession, I am going to pick the SEC defense to prevail over the Big East defense. Andre Woodson will make Kentucky at football school for at least a week. They need a reason to forget the last two basketball seasons.

My Pick: Kentucky

Notre Dame at Michigan

NBC is praying for a Notre Dame victory to keep their TV contract somewhat relevant. Michigan has scored a touchdown against a FBS team this season, though.  Michigan to roll.

My Pick: Michigan

Quick Picks

Arkansas at Alabama: Alabama
Boston College at Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech
Florida State at Colorado: Florida State
Hawaii at UNLV: UNLV
Fresno St at Oregon: Oregon
